  • I was standing in front of this lifeguard's chair when I heard whistles and sirens.
  • He ran past me and headed out into the water.
  • Several people were pointing to a young woman who was out a fair distance.
  • She was clearly in trouble.
  • A truck showed up with additional lifeguards, and they quickly brought her to the beach.

  • She was clearly shaken by the incident.
  • This is my favorite - I think it captures the drama of the moment. Everything was fine, but had this been a beach without lifeguards, the story could have ended much differently.
