Tokina ATX 80-400 samples
Nothing scientific here, but these are some sample test shots with my new Tokina ATX 80-400.
These are right out of my camera, shot in TV mode, Parameter 2, AWB at ISO 400. Some of these were taken wide open and others were stopped down a bit. All were hand held. The lens itself is very well built, at least compared to my Canon consumer lenses (80-200 4.5, 50 1.8 and the DR Kit lens). There is also a shot of the moon in my favorites gallery that was done in raw and processed in C1 plus I applied the Ultra-Sharp lite filter in Adobe PSE.
These photos are unprocessed but when I applied some light USM on a few of these, I was very happy with the results. So far, it seems like a nice lens for those on a budget.
Tokina has a $60 rebate now, so my price out the door for this lens from B&H was around $390.
