Lens Test - Consumer vs. L glass
I've had some trouble walking into events (a concert, for example) with my 70-200 F4L. I love this lens, of course, but for those times when I have to leave it at home, I purchased a Canon EF II 55-200 zoom. This lens is nice an compact, easy to cary, has a fast focusing USM motor and seems very sharp as this simple lens test shows. Worth checking out if you're looking for a modestly priced walk around zoom and don't want the heft or cost of L glass.
This test was done using a 20D on a tripod, AWB, ISO400, 1/200 shutter speed, Sigma DG500 Flash, 10 feet from subject. No retouching - so pardon the white balance!
